Go to start of metadata
Taxon-Specific Filters can be used to restrict data to results associated with selected taxa, their synonyms, and hierarchical 'children'.
  • Fish community data can be filtered by selecting from Order, Family, Species, Common name, or all taxonomic levels combined
  • Invertebrate community data can be filtered by selecting from Phylum, Class, Order, Family, Genus, Species, or all taxonomic levels combined
  • Algal community data can be filtered by selecting from Algal group (e.g. diatoms, blue-green algae), Division, Class, Family, Genus, Species, or all taxonomic levels combined

Helpful Hints/Tips:

When you the taxon-specific filters, data downloads will include all synonyms and hierarchical 'children' of the selected taxa
  • If you select the invertebrate Family Baetidae, your data will not only include Baetidae, but also Centroptilum/Procloeon, Acentrella, Baetis, Baetistricaudatus, etc.

Can't find the taxa you are looking for? Try downloading the data for it's nearest 'parent' taxon
  • If you are looking for "Tanytarsus sp. A", you might use the 'Family' radio button and download data for Chironomidae or use the 'All Lavels' radio button and download data for Tanytarsini

Saving Filter Criteria
  • You can save more complicated (or even simple) sets of filter criteria for future use using either of the "Save Filter Set" buttons at the top or bottom of the window
