Confluence Retirement

Due to the feedback from stakeholders and our commitment to not adversely impact USGS science activities that Confluence supports, we are extending the migration deadline to January 2023.

In an effort to consolidate USGS hosted Wikis, myUSGS’ Confluence service is targeted for retirement. The official USGS Wiki and collaboration space is now SharePoint. Please migrate existing spaces and content to the SharePoint platform and remove it from Confluence at your earliest convenience. If you need any additional information or have any concerns about this change, please contact myusgs@usgs.gov. Thank you for your prompt attention to this matter.

This group is intended as a way to collaborate and share information around soils. This includes data products, software techniques, and soil science theory as related to digital data. A component of this is comparing the effectiveness of different data sets or processing approaches for different uses, such as hydrologic modeling. We would like to coordinate with each other and with the USDA to make better use of various soils datasets, include STATSGO, STATSGO2, SSURGO, and NRI information. This also includes USDA's statistically based landscape characterization datasets. Other data sets could be Gleeson's continental and global maps of soils permeability.

If you're interested, please let us know (rviger@usgs.gov would be a good point of contact).
