Confluence Retirement

Due to the feedback from stakeholders and our commitment to not adversely impact USGS science activities that Confluence supports, we are extending the migration deadline to January 2023.

In an effort to consolidate USGS hosted Wikis, myUSGS’ Confluence service is targeted for retirement. The official USGS Wiki and collaboration space is now SharePoint. Please migrate existing spaces and content to the SharePoint platform and remove it from Confluence at your earliest convenience. If you need any additional information or have any concerns about this change, please contact myusgs@usgs.gov. Thank you for your prompt attention to this matter.

Agenda: Presentation at ETWG Risk Community of Practice monthly meeting.

  • Presentation Title: Understanding the Value of Usability Evaluation 
  • Speakers: Mike Frame, USGS Core Science Analytics, Synthesis, and Libraries (CSAS&L) , Rachel Volentine, University of Tennessee User-eXperience Lab , and Sophie Hou, USGS Science Data Management, SAS and Western Geographic Science Center
  • Synopsis: The speakers will discuss the general concepts of usability and/or user analysis, benefits seen by USGS, and current collaborations with the University of Tennessee User eXperience Laboratory. The participants will also share information about the new Community for Data Integration Usability collaboration area, and the best practices/lessons learned that will be covered in the upcoming presentation based on the USGS Hazard Exposure Reporting and Analytics's (HERA) usability redesign.
