Confluence Retirement

In an effort to consolidate USGS hosted Wikis, myUSGS’ Confluence service is scheduled for retirement on January 27th, 2023. The official USGS Wiki and collaboration space is now SharePoint. Please migrate existing spaces and content to the SharePoint platform and remove it from Confluence at your earliest convenience.   • To add a non-shapefile to your project page, first click on the blue "Add File" at the top of the page on the tool bar. 

To add a shapefile to a project page you must have an unzipped shapefile of your project area. 


  • Go to the project page as shown above. 
  • Click on the blue "Add File" button at the top of the page on the toolbar.

  • Your file will show here. To navigate back to the project page, click on the title of the project.

Adding a Shapefile to a Project Page

If you want to add a map to your project page here it must be an "unzipped" shapefile. 

  • To add map to your project page, go to the project page as shown above. 
  • Click on the blue "Add File" button at the top of the page on the toolbar.

  • You will see a page that looks like this. Double click on "Attach Files."

  • Navigate to where you saved your unzipped shapefile and then highlight and click "open" to attach all of your files.

  • The files will be added to your project as shown below. 




  • There is no need to save. When you return to your project page (by clicking on the title of your project) you will see your files have been added to your project, and you should see the map of your project area
