Confluence Retirement

Due to the feedback from stakeholders and our commitment to not adversely impact USGS science activities that Confluence supports, we are extending the migration deadline to January 2023.

In an effort to consolidate USGS hosted Wikis, myUSGS’ Confluence service is targeted for retirement. The official USGS Wiki and collaboration space is now SharePoint. Please migrate existing spaces and content to the SharePoint platform and remove it from Confluence at your earliest convenience. If you need any additional information or have any concerns about this change, please contact myusgs@usgs.gov. Thank you for your prompt attention to this matter.

Five different sample types can be created from the Physical Samples tab

  • Physical Site Condition Observation
  • Water Column Light Intensity
  • NAWQA Reach Habitat

Create and Edit Physical Samples (including Reach Habitat; Physical Site Conditions; Light Availability) data. These samples are typically collected to support analysis of taxonomic identification and enumeration data in Community Samples.

The NRSA Visual Assessment form is part of the Physical Site Conditions sample

BioData Study Reach has variables that are on the 2002 NAWQA Reach Habitat form

Creating a Sample is a multiple-step process:

Select Create New Physical Sample button

Enter Site - Date - Time

Select "Create" from the Actions column
