WHAT?

The USGS Citizen Science Workshop goals are:

If program or project members are unable to participate in person or via remote access, we plan to capture information and details about all projects in which USGS researchers participate directly or indirectly.

The CSWG intends that the workshop report and a supporting website will document the most complete picture of current and future citizen science activities within the USGS and partners.

WHEN?

The Citizen Science Workshop will be on September 11 and 12, 2012.

Topics we will explore at the Workshop:

Attendees at the Workshop will participate in plenary speaker sessions, Lightning Talks (short, no slide or one-slide presentations, 3-5 minutes), and 'structured discussions' for each main topic.

Invited speakers will provide background information and status updates pertaining to a topic from their area of interest and research and respond to questions or inquiries on their work.

All attendees have the opportunity to submit an abstract to give quick Lightning Talks on a topic, or display posters in the meeting room.  Invited speakers will be contacted directly by one of the many session chairs.
