In Release 2.13 (August 2017), we added a new feature to the Dashboard for users to see the 'Status' of each record in their accounts. For users with many records in their OME accounts, this Status is intended to help them see at a glance which of their records remain in an incomplete, active state, and which records successfully passed MP validation, and were downloaded as complete.
FOR RECORDS NEWLY CREATED OR UPLOADED AFTER 8/9/2017:
- Status In Progress will display when you first create a new record, or when you upload an existing CSDGM XML file. As you work on the record, the status will remain 'In Progress.' When you believe the record is complete and you attempt a 'Download Metadata Package' action, MP will attempt to validate your record. If MP detects major errors, the record will not pass validation, the final XML file will not download, and the Status will remain 'In Progress.' You will need to correct the errors MP has reported and attempt another 'Download Metadata Package' action.
- Status Valid will display once a 'Download Metadata Package' action results in successful MP validation and download of the zip file containing the final CSDGM XML file.
FOR RECORDS, AT ANY LEVEL OF COMPLETENESS, THAT WERE IN OME USER ACCOUNTS PRIOR TO 8/19/2017:
- Prior to Release 2.13, OME did not track whether a 'Download Metadata Package' action was attempted, and a validation package successfully downloaded. OME is therefore unaware of the status of these records. To distinguish these records from those for which the Status is known, records in OME accounts prior to 8/19/2017 carry a status of 'Migrated.'
CAN I GET RID OF THE 'MIGRATED' STATUS TO SHOW A TRUE STATUS OF MY RECORD(S)?
- Yes. From the Dashboard, you can simply open any 'Migrated' record in the Editor by clicking on its Title. Once the record opens, any auto save or manual Quick Save/Save and Close action will automatically update the Status to 'In Progress.' If you know that you have previously performed a 'Download Metadata Package' action that resulted in a validated download of your final XML file, you can simply re-execute the 'Download Metadata Package' action. You will get another copy of the zip file - which you can delete - but the successful validation process will update the Status to 'Valid.'
