GSTalk for screensharing:

Tips: This is the first time we are using the GSTalk platform, please allow a few extra minutes to connect. Use Internet Explorer or Safari, if you run into problems, try a different browser. Recommended to use PHONE, not browser for audio. You do not need to "sign in" to view, just enter your full name. If you receive a message that you need Flash, click on the small box that says Flash, you may be able to bypass it. The separate window may be hidden behind other windows. Sync your phone number and name in the participants list by right-clicking on your phone number and selecting “This is my phone.” Click the “auto-fit” button in the upper-left to fit the screen-share to your window. Few-second lags in the screen-share are normal. Email or speak up on the phone if you are having trouble connecting.

This presentation will cover the impact of the Freedom of Information Act (FOIA) on the data that USGS scientists possess, use and analyze, prior to publication and post-publication.  The presentation will focus on scenarios and routine questions posed to the FOIA Program; however, the presentation is not intended to supplement formal FOIA training or a more detailed presentation on the FOIA.

The CDI Request for Proposals Process: Past, Present, and Future - Leslie Hsu, USGS

The Community for Data Integration has been funding projects annually since 2010. The CDI supports new and ongoing projects that promote data integration for the benefit of USGS science. The current proposal process strives to include all interested community members in proposing or commenting on ideas. This process is aligned with the CDI goals of facilitating communication across boundaries and making connections across the USGS. What has CDI funded in the past? What types of projects are we looking for this year? What project characteristics have contributed to successful CDI outcomes?
