Publication and Source
Entman, R.M. (1991) Framing: Toward Clarification of a Fractured Paradigm. Journal of Communication, 43(4) 51-58.
In this article, Entman explains that there is not enough core knowledge around communications and that we should rectify this. By bringing together all the different pieces of knowledge, insights, and theories scattered among different disciplines, we can make communication a master discipline. Entman does this in this article for the concept of "framing". In this article, he defines frames and framing, discusses how framing influences thinking and analyzes how this one concept is used in different ways across different disciplines.
