In this paper, Martha Monroe discusses two avenues for influencing behavior to become more environmentally responsbile: social marketing and environmental literacy through educational programs. Dr. Monroe offers strategies for both of these avenues and provides a review of literature for factors that influence targeted behavior and that contribute to environmental literacy.
