The myUSGS application suite is administered by the USGS Science Analytics and Synthesis program and offers access-controlled online information management and collaboration tools, ideal for use by USGS scientists and their research teams and external partners.

DOI users may log on to this system using their Active Directory credentials, while users from outside DOI may request an external account (USGS sponsor required).


Jira is a project management software that allows you to plan, track, and manage your software, business, or service desk project.


Confluence is a content collaboration software that allows you to create, share, and collaborate on different types of projects.


Bitbucket is a web-based Git repository hosting platform. We recommend using the USGS GitLab to host new software/code projects.

Frequently Asked Questions

USGS/DOI users: Please sign in using your full Active Directory username and password.

External users: Request an external account (Please use an organizational email address and include a USGS sponsor with the request)

Note: If you need to assistance with a ScienceBase account, please submit a request.

USGS/DOI users: Passwords are automatically synched from Active Directory. If you're having trouble logging in, please reset your Active Directory password.

External users: Passwords can be reset directly in Jira/Confluence. If you forgot your password or it expired, you can request a new password.

We anticipate moving away from Bitbucket at some point in the future. If possible, please use the USGS GitLab (code.usgs.gov) to host code and collaborate with teammates.

At this time we are not able to add new add-ons but we will continue to support the add-ons that are currently active across the myUSGS suite.
