USGS Chesapeake Bay [Folder View]

Data resources of the USGS Chesapeake Bay Activities The Chesapeake Bay is our Nation's largest estuary, and the continued restoration and protection of this national resource is a priority for designated Federal and State agencies, and nongovernmental stakeholders through the Chesapeake Bay Program (CBP). Given the ecologic and economic importance of the Chesapeake Bay, President Obama issued an Executive order for increased Federal leadership to restore and protect the Bay and its watershed. The USGS has the critical role to provide scientific information for the improved understanding and management of the Bay ecosystem. The USGS works with Federal, State, and academic science partners to provide research, assessment, monitoring, and modeling. The ScienceBase Virtual Catalog for USGS Chesapeake Bay Activities provides a space for project team members to catalog and search for data and information resources of importance in restoring the Chesapeake Bay.
