Purpose

To provide information (survival, longevity and site fidelity) relevant to conservation of the eastern population of the Painted Bunting (Passerina ciris). These data have been used to estimate adult and hatch-year annual survival, longevity of males and females, and an index of site fidelity, as well as to test for an hypothesized latitudinal gradient in survival or an effect of near-by landuse and land-form (mainland versus coastal island locations) on survival. In the future, researchers may re-analyze or use these data to test for changing demographics of this population.
