Summary

SedReview is a discrete sediment data review tool which facilitates rapid review of sediment sample data and checks for compliance with many data collection and data storage “best practices” and policies. The tool was written in the R programming language but has a stand-alone Shiny application/executable that opens a graphical user interface (GUI) within an internet browser. Use of the stand-alone executable does not require experience with the R programming language. SedReview is built on the same platform as WQReview, the discrete water quality data review tool announced in WaQI Note 2016.01. Purpose

SedReview is a software tool for the review of discrete fluvial sediment data (suspended sediment, bedload, bed material) stored in USGS databases. SedReview has two main modules: 1) Site-Level Assessment Module, intended for use by project managers, data collectors, or other technical staff to review and plot sediment data from a specific site; and 2) Science-Center Review Module, intended for use by office managers, specialists, or external reviewers who wish to perform high-level reviews of data from an entire Water Science Center.
